Encourage. Equip. Empower.

My Mantra

E3 (Encourage, equip, empower) is more than just a mantra, it’s a natural extension of the scholar-teacher model. I begin by a single-minded focus on building confidence in my students: they can ask the big questions, they do have what it takes to succeed, they should question everything—to stoke the fire of intellectual courage. This is achieved by putting tools in the hands of students (both mathematical and philosophical) and showing those students the appropriate contexts in which to apply those tools. Finally, it’s the students themselves who become empowered. Armed with the intellectual courage to ask the big questions and the tools with which to answer them, they become their own teacher and (most importantly) teachers to others. Hence, E3 is an iterative process that leads to a virtuous cycle of empowerment and growth.
